Our Story

Hope began with a story.

Be A Light Rehabilitation Services is a faith-based nonprofit created to meet people in some of life’s darkest places—and remind them that light still exists.

Through recovery support, peer mentoring, life-skills education, relapse prevention, court-approved classes, community resources, and connections to treatment, housing, and employment, Be A Light helps individuals and families move toward lasting recovery, renewed purpose, and a future they can believe in.

Meet Laura Crawford

Laura Crawford is the founder and CEO of Be A Light Rehabilitation Services. Her work was not born from a distant idea. It grew from lived experience.

During the lowest point of Laura’s addiction, she lost precious time with her children. The moment that began to change everything came when she stopped blaming the people and circumstances around her and admitted to her children that the responsibility was hers.

That honesty became the beginning of something new.

As Laura fought to rebuild her life, she discovered how difficult it could be to find meaningful help, compassionate guidance, and a community that truly understood recovery. She felt called to create what she once needed: a place where people could be seen, supported, and reminded that their story was not over.

Today, Laura uses her lived experience, professional training, and unwavering faith to walk alongside others on their recovery journeys. She believes no one is beyond redemption and every person deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and discover their worth.

House of Hope

House of Hope extends that mission by providing a safe, supportive sober-living environment for women, including mothers rebuilding their lives with their children.

It is more than a place to stay. It is a place to begin again—with structure, encouragement, accountability, community, and hope.
